The Dirty Dozen

The hard-working people at the Environmental Working Group put together a useful reference for pesticides in produce. It ranks some common fruits and vegetables according to the amount of pesticides found in them. An excellent guide to know what organic produce to definitely seek out and is worth splurging on. There’s a wallet size version that you can print out and carry with you when you go grocery shopping (we refer to ours often). It lists the top 12 “dirtiest” and the 12 “cleanest” fruits and veggies. The complete guide has a list of 43 fruits and veggies that they examined.

Thanks for the pesticide guide. It will come in handy when I go shopping. It’s especially helpful in teaching the kids (and hubby), the importance of buying organic.
